I’ve been TRIPLE CROSSED!

So today I’m on my way back to Denver from the Mountains and guess what I see on my way to the gas station…
img_1114.jpg…what the hey…??

I watched him run across the street to the corner and then he just… starts dancing! (I like how he holds the cross with his WHITE glove… Gary, mi amigo negro, is offended, but I told him to chill).

Ummmm, I am NOT going to let this go un-peeped!

I wish I had a chance to talk to this guy. You know I have actually seen him before, once at Keystone… dancing by the base area lift line… and at City Market. He wasn’t dancing there. I think he was in the Mexican aisle buying rice. I have always thought he is a cool guy. I don’t know exactly why he invests so much time dancing in random places. Maybe he’ll fill us in in the “shouts” section!

I like this guy though. And he’s been seen all over Summit County and people recognize him and many people honked and waved as they drove by.

Personally I really like seeing this guy. I’m not a huge church goer, although I try… but what I like about this guy is that he’s dancing with all these crosses, reminding me that life is no accident! You don’t need to be a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, yada yada yada to know that there’s somethng else going on here, beyond our mind’s comprehension; just look at the stars, for example… explain that, mister smarty pants. Where’s it all end? And my personal advice is that if you feel like you are stuck in a rut, find your nearest mountain and climb it to the top. Just trust me on that. Wow, I am being so profound right now, I should be a Philosophy professor!

Anyway, life is a true gift, it’s the ultimate gift! It goes by fast, too. I really try to make every day count for something. When I’m an old guy, stuck in some sort of old folks home, I don’t want to sit there wondering what I did with my life. I want to sit proud and grey and I will probably spend a little bit of time each day going back into my old SIXPEEPS archives and reminiscing with pride! This guy reminds me to not take a day for granted and to “be at peace with god, whatever you believe Him to be” (Max Ehrmann, 1855). Thanks, uhhhh… Mr… Cross… Dancer…. Guy… ?

Here’s a good quote, too, since I’m feeling all psyched to be alive!

“I will live this day as if it were my last. And if it IS my last, it will be my greatest monument. This day I will make the best day of my life. This day I will drink every minute to its full. I will savor its taste and give thanks. I will make every hour count and each minute I will trade only for something of value. I will labor harder than ever before and push my muscles until they cry for relief, and then I will continue. Each minute of today will be more fruitful than the hours of yesterday. My last must be my best. I will live this day as if it is my last. And if it is not, I shall fall to my knees and give thanks.” –Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World

CARPE DIEM PEEPS!!! :D

Oh, P.S. at the upper right of this blog, in the header, you will notice that the image changes whenever I post something in this blog. :) Today, it’s my new skis. I took that shot this morning on the Pali lift at A-Basin. For my skiing peeps, those are the 2008 Rossignol Scratch Brigades. You can’t get em at the stores yet. I just happen to have connections. That’s right. ;) but they ski like a dream and are purdy, too).

We don’t create joy in our lives by contemplating pain, nor do we create success by dwelling on failure. Because our lives flow in the direction of our dominant thoughts, it is the flow of our thinking that determines the shape of our lives. If we focus on what is missing, therefore, it will continue to stay gone. The way to draw it to us — to make it float into our lives — is to see it bobbing on the surface, where we would have it be.

May the desires of your heart flow easily into your life.
And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me.
