Cherry Creek Sneak, and CAKE!

Last weekend was really fun! Sat I got up super early and got out my FIXIE and rode through the streets of Downtown Denver… out to my favorite cafe, the Common Ground for a Tiggers Bounce, which is a latte with HONEY! Then I rode home and ran into Teddy, a local photographer who was shooting Walk America or something like that. So that was fun… then I saw a German Shepard doggie show at a park, but I couldn’t stop and take photos because I had a wedding to go to. So then I showered up and hit up Brent and Dori’s wedding (see below), and it was just a smashing time! Then I got home at like 1, backed up all my images, went to bed at like 2:30 PM. Woke up at 6:30 AM and jumped back on my FIXIE to the Cherry Creek Sneak start line. Got my free t-shirt and here I was at the start line!

I was a little tired but it was just a lil’ 5-mile fun run. The weather was so great and it just felt really good to be among hundreds of thousands (or something like that) of healthy morning risers. Families, buddies, running groups, business groups, significant others… were all there with shades, shorts, and shoes, stretching out, big smiles, etc. It is such a great envoronment.

During the race I saw this and of course I am not going to run a 5 Mile fun run without my G7. I got passed by this bride and maide. I probably looked like a pervert taking this, but you know me, I am not shy about pulling out my camera.

After the race it was freakin HOT! I jumped back on my bike and headed out to Luciles to meet Jenny for a cajun breakfast. Luciles has great big nets, and I had the Oyster Rockefeller omelette thing, a bloody mary and MIMOSAS! So good!

Oh and I forgot to post this shot earlier. It’s one of a whole bunch of great details I shot at Brent and Dori’s wedding with my point and shoot camera! Can you believe it? I probably looked silly shooting a wedding with a point-and-shoot. Of COURSE I had my pro gear… but I would be delighted if someone were to ask me to shoot their wedding with a point and shoot. That would be such a fun, creative challenge.

Yes, I gobbled one of these even though it wasn’t splurge day. Actually it wasn’t my fault, one of those little treats got knocked off the serving dish and accidentally landed in my mouth. I was so mad about that!
