My Italian Family

I am super excited about this post. I recently got this CD burned (originally a reel-to-reel recording) of my grandfather, Joseph Cafiero and my Nonnie (who is still with us) having a little jam session in their Las Vegas home. My grandfather played the mandolin with an Italian Mafioso Jazz band. Nonnie loved to sing when he played. I think this was recorded in the 1950s.

I know it sounds boring, but YOU HAVE to listen to it. If it doesn’t have you smiling ear to ear by the end of it, then something is wrong with you. In fact I will bet you $100 bucks that you will leave this post smiling. If not, I want to know you you be.

OK first for a visual, here they are again. My grandfather, Nonnie, and all the kids.

OK and here it is. Let me tell you a little bit about what’s going on here. The first part, my grandfather is playing a Mazurka called the Alba Mazurka, then… WARNING: there is like a 4 second section near the beginning that the recording gets messed up. Sounds like a bomb falling or something, but then it comes back and YOU GOTTA HEAR MY NONNIE SING! What a contagious laugh, too!!
