Sherry & Matt Arizona Biltmore
Oh boy, was last weekend fun! I got to shoot a long-awaited wedding for Texans Matt and Sherry at the World Famous, “Jewel of the Desert” Arizona Biltmore. The Rehearsal Dinner was just about as fun as the wedding.
Thanks to Victoria Canada for referring me, I never run out of grandeur to photograph when the wedding was planned by Victoria. She’s very clever and thoughtful when it comes to all of the kazillion details that exceptional weddings require!
The Biltmore, by the way, is a SPECTACULAR piece of property and an architechtural wonder as far as I am concerned. I love the use of right angular construction, custom concrete brickwork, sculptures, spires and stained glasswork.
Let’s get down to business.
Meet Matt and Sherry - I hadn’t met these two in person before the wedding, but I talked to Matt on the phone and I loved the guy right away. He’s a real Texan like so many on my mom’s side of the family. Sherry is a real class act herself, and I don’t need to tell you how stunning she looked on her wedding day.

The Biltmore was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, who’s a pretty prominent figure in Scottsdale.
I had a little photoshop fun with this.

I have to post this again because it’s too cool. ![]()

It also provided a dramantic (I just made that word up - Romantic and Dramatic) backdrop.

Matt asked if I could try to get a shot of he and Sherry in the lobby. I asked him what, in particular, he loves about the lobby and he said the wood floors. That made for a fun shot - great idea, Matt!

Let’s go back in time just a couple hours, I LOVE this shot of Sherry waiting for a little touch up. She looks so comfy there in her robe, sipping on a little white wine. I need to try that some day. OK, maybe not.

Women love shots of their men, mid-shave. Somebody get this man a Mach III! ![]()

Even the kids got the good “getting ready” treatment. Matthew gets spiked while Meredith gets a little lip gloss.

And a great shot of Sherry, I need to get a big ol print of this for the studio wall.

Matt says he’s bringing the fam to come skiing with me next winter. I normally do not ski with Texans, but I will definitely make the exception with this fun family! ![]()

I also need to post this shot of Al Raitano - his silky voice got him awarded “Most Talented Sr. Citizen” by the Today Show! He’s even been on Jay Leno, and starred in several movies. He is amazingly talented and fun, and a real nice fellow. I LOVE this shot. No flash used, there was a spot light that he kept crossing. It took me a few tries, but finally I caught him right as he sang a note right in the spotlight.

Well there are like hundreds cool shots that I would love to post, but this is much more fun - check out the slideshow!
Thanks again Matt & Sherry! I’m honored to have been a part of your wedding!
