SixPeeps, a Cancer Philanthropy
Last weekend I was in Arizona shooting a wedding, and on my way out of town I stopped by to visit a third Aunt of mine, Theresa, who is dying of cancer. I had no idea of what to expect. I didn’t really know what stage of cancer she was in. I figured, she’d be just like I remembered her from the last time I saw her, about a year and a half ago. There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with her if you were to look at her.
I was amazed. When I got there she was in bed… could not get out. She was so frail and brittle looking, extremely skinny. Her body didn’t move at all, but a big smile came upon her face. She was, literally, laying in her death bed. We chatted for about 5-10 minutes, and then I had to leave to catch my flight home. I felt quite certain that our goodbye was permanent.
On my flight home I just couldn’t stop thinking about Theresa and her two kids that live with her in her tiny little apartment.
It reminded me that I need to get on this Cancer fund raising thing. I came up with an idea that I think is even better than the town sale! My photo book, “Visual Grandeur”, which is sort of a photographic journal with little stories here and there is ready for print. It’s a really fun book, and I think you’ll like it. If you like coming to sixpeeps.com to look at photos and read my stories, then you will love the book and I really think it will be a fun conversation piece to have on your coffee table. The photography is entertaining, and this book is unique because all the photos were taken with a point-and-shoot.
This also makes a great gift. I don’t like getting all salesy on my peeps, but I am going to ask for your help this once. I am not walking away with any profits. I am selling the book for $100 and ALL profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help with their research.
If you would like to take part in this fundraising effort, shoot me an email and I’ll have one of these books sent out to you.
ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY JUNE 6, WHICH IS NEXT WEEK! Just email me now so that you don’t forget and miss out!
Here’s the cover - it’s filled with cool shots from the mountains, some stuff from ski patrol, some travel photos, etc. It’s 40 pages and the first of a grand series that I plan on making; two books every year (Winter and Summer).

Thanks Peeps! I’m hoping this will be a victory for cancer research!

You don’t know what your visit meant to Terry and her family. Sign me up for an album, Mark.
