Ingrid & Jeff, Estes Park

Last weekend it was off to Estes Park to photograph a wedding for Ingrid and Jeff. Once again, another couple who said, “Hey Mark, we’d love for you to just do what you do best and capture our wedding with your candid approach” and they didn’t give me the kind of LONG list of formal posed shots like I used to get back when I was taking any kind of wedding I could get. OK those weren’t their words exactly, but they were so nice and gave me my creative freedom. Thanks!

The day started at the Wild Basin Lodge, a beautiful rustic lodge in Allenspark, just NorthEast of Boulder. Then we headed off to the famous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Did you know that THE SHINING was filmed there? I think that’s the story at least. I am not the best for Hotel Trivia.

At the STANLEY HOTEL!!! This place is amazing, and it’s surrounded by Colorado’s Finest Mountains. Nearest CO 14er: Longs Peak. I climbed Longs in college. It was spectacular and one of the most gnarly hikes my legs have ever felt. The summit passageway is called the Keyhole. It’s freaky and deadly. Now back to the wedding!
