iPhone test drive

I couldn’t help it. I was cruising by Cherry Creek on my bike yesterday. I stopped and ran in to the Apple Store to look at the much hyped iPhone. My friend Scott sent me a message from his new iPhone and it was very short which made me suspicious, I bet it’s hard to type with that touch screen.

Nevertheless, I still was expecting to be blown away and tempted. Kind of like how Adam and Eve were so tempted by that Apple.

So there it was. I grabbed it. It was sleek and stylin. It felt good in my hand. The screen was big and colorful and I enjoyed it. OK the test I was waiting for. You know I am emailing from my Blackberry ALL DAY LONG. Just ask Jenny, drives her crazy. But I can type so dang fast on the Blackberry.

I got to the email screen. I started to send myself an email. OK. I know my hands aren’t as pretty as the hand model on the commercials who makes everything look so effortless. But I don’t have fat fingers. They are quite dainty, actually, despite the rest of me who radiates masculinity. I could NOT type a single sentence. I kept hitting wrong keys. Then I realized that I can hold my finger down on, say, an “H”. I could simply roll my finger to the right and get the “J”. But even that took too much time. Then my finger brushed against something on the screen and my entire email disappeared.

That was the extent of the Cafiero Test Drive. It won amazing marks on appearance and it’s an easy product to market for that reason along. Apple always does such a great job with their electric-charged-hyped-up marketing. The genious of it all is that they get their cult of followers to charge it up even more. Being a Marketing Major, I admire the heck out of them for that. But I am glad I didn’t give in. I’m too impatient for that.

Maybe some actual owners can type up some comments about why I am wrong. I’d still love to be sold, because it does look PIMP.
