HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!! (APPETIZER POST)
Okee Dokee, Here’s the deal: I am already getting requests by my peeps who are anxious to see my Alpine Mountaineering Post from the 4th of July. Well I have a lot of catch up work to do, so consider this an appetizer. I have SO MANY FREAKIN COOL PHOTOS from the trip! I can not wait to show you. But I have a lot of work to do.
Here are some videos from my G7 on the trip. Photos are coming. I hate the way my voice sounds on video! So please excuse the silly narration, and feel free to turn of your volume and just watch the video. You don’t really learn anything cool from my pointless jibba-jabba!
#1 This was Day 2 of our trip. I was still a little perturbed by Terence who shook my tent violently and shouted, WAKE UP, LETS GO… at 3 AM. But as usual, I thanked him for that later at 6 AM when we summited the first of our two 14ers of the day.
#2. 5:00 AM on the 4th of July. Terence and I made it to the summit ridge. Now all we had to do is follow the ridge up to the summit of Shavano. I accidentally called this a Sunset, but it was really a Sunrise.
#3. 6:00 AM, summit of Shavano Mountain, elevation is 14,229 feet, but my watch was off by almost 800 feet, so I thought I was climbing a 13′er because there is a 13′er before you get to Shavano, but I was all messed up. So to clear it all up, this video IS at the summit of Shavano! Yay!
#4. 7:00 AM, Summit of Tabaguache, elevation is 14,130ish feet. Still my watch is off, but what I was trying to say here is that we knew the elevation of our campsite was 10,840 according to my watch. We weren’t camped off any sort of trail so if we were to return after dark, it would be good to keep that elevation as a reference point to find our camp. That’s why I didn’t calibrate the watch. Sorry I did a bad job of explaining that. Beautiful summit!
#5. Cool Basin on our descent down to Shavano Lake!
#6. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep running! LOOK OUT!
OK so there’s a nice little appetizer for you. Check back soon for photos, I am really excited about the shots I got from this trip!

Right On Babe! I can’t wait to see those photos. I’m a proud girlfriend! And I love your narrator voice
I enjoy it so much that I played all 6 clips at the same time; kinda fun! … I’m glad that you and T-Bone were hunting for 14ers and not the blair witch
