Deepali and 007 (Sapan) Indian Wedding to the MAX!
Hey, is anyone here ready for anothe rblog post? I sure am! Things have been crazy and this week was a blur. I didn’t leave Colorado (until tomorrow when I’m off for Portland!). But I went up to Estes Park Yesterday, and Colorado Springs today and like a gazillion meetings it seems. But one thing I managed to do is pick out my favorite shots from Deepali and 007’s wedding for the blog! Why 007 you ask? Well I heard him telling a buddy on the phone that for now on he shall be called 007! Hey, I think that’s fitting!
OK how about some photos… Indian weddings are a dream for the eyes and a nightmare for the feet of a photographer. I couldn’t stop photographing all the details and rituals of this three-day event! And by the end of it, my feet were begging for mercy. Day one, the Henna! Here’s Deepali, looking ever so joyful.

As you can imagine, I was having so much fun with all the details!
The following morning I showed up early! I forgot how early it was but these guys were just starting to have their coffee, so coffee-early!

chocolate and nuts! Where are the marshmellows and graham crackers? Mmmmm

Upstairs, Mr. Antoine du Chez himself was giving free samples of product!

OK now for the very important religious ceremonies. You know I don’t understand anything going on here, but I enjoyed every second of it and everyone there was so great, they were so welcoming and happy to have me witness this really cool event.
This is Deepali’s mom, and her dad in the background

The ladies made treats for Sapan… but I think they tricked him with some mystery ingredients!

The morning of the wedding, I showed up at the Dever Center for Performing Arts, which is a perfect place for an elaborate Indian wedding - they have all the best lighting etc… it felt like I was photographing some sort of Broadway production!
Had to sneak in a self-portrait on the go!

It’s not every wedding where the groom rides in on a horse!

There were drums and everything!

Goofing around, the Mother of the Bride accidentally gave the groom a bloody nose! It was funny, and Sapan’s sister, a doctor, was there to stop the bleed while Sapan was still on the horse!

Getting ready for the reception…

Deepali’s father gave a nice, heartfelt toast.

Reena and another girl also did a very cool dance for the newlyweds.

Then Deepali joined and before you know it, everyone was dancing!

A nice moment during the Mother-Son dance

They had an awesome DJ. I saw that he had real live turntables. I thought it was just for looks, as DJ’s just don’t mix records any more which is a huge shame… lo and behold this guy starts mixing and scratching and throwing in all sorts of fancy moves, I was so impressed!

two turntables and a microphone!

I’d love to post more… got so many cool shots! You guys will just have to wait! Thanks so much for having me, I had such a great time and was honored to be your chosen photographer. Congratulations Deepali and Sapan!!!
