Today Sucked. Edit: Yesterday sucked, but I made up for it today!

editors notes: Below are my ramblings from yesterday. I was in a bad mood because the DMV stole much of my day and I had nothing to show for it in the end. TODAY, however I went back to DMV in the AM and the guy there was totally cool and hooked me up. I’m no longer license-less! Now I am in Phoenix, waiting for a connecting flight to Austin. I actually think I’m still going to utilize town cars, rather than rentals. So I am happy.

10/09/07: Well I don’t have time to blog, but I figured I’d type up SOMETHING in less than 5 minutes. I have been neglecting this blog. Sorry guys, but I have so many killer posts that are just begging to be published. Expect a BIG week in Peep!

Today sucked. I lost my Drivers License. Just conveniently before my double header trip: Dallas and Jersey. So now instead of renting cars, I get to pay extra for shuttles and town cars. I spent two hours in line to get a new one. Amongst crying little brats, nascar fans and hood rats. I was the only normal person at the DMV. Seriously, I was. So after all the waiting, guess what, I didn’t have all the required junk to get my ID. I can still fly, according to my Southwest agent, but I will be subjected to EXTRA searching and security. So I have to arrive a little early for the rubber glove treatment.

To my surprise, I am getting awesome deals on fab lincoln town cars that will pick me up right at the airport. I can chill and not worry about a thing. Doesn’t end up costing me too much more than renting cars! I am actually happy about this new scenario. I can sit back and read a book in comfort and not worry about missing an exit or whatever. The car picks me up right outside of baggage claim. No taking a shuttle, listening to a salesman try to upsell me to full coverage rental insurance or upgrading me to a bigger car. I hate that. Suddenly this “issue” has given me great peace!

The ride I am most anxious for: my Surly Cross Check winter commuter with the studded tires. Frame is in, now it’s being built. I feel confident that I will win this lovely piece. Laffy Caffi. That’s me!

I am excited to visit Granny and Granddad in Austin and Uncle Tom and friend Phil Bailiff. Looking forward to some golf.

I weighed myself last Sat after the Race for the Cure. Jenny and I ran, (one of the fun blog posts coming up).

Anyway, I weighed exactly 185. I lost my 30 lbs. but not totally legit because I had sweat a lot and not eaten anything. Almost there. Week after next until my “after” photos. :)

I looked into requirements for making a move to Canada today, which has been on my mind a lot. Jenny supports me on this. I am thinking about making it my 1-year goal. I’ll keep shooting in CO until my Canada studio gets rolling, then CO would be mostly fulfilled by my awesome partner photographers. Still more of an idea, but I think I want to make it concrete. Maybe someday I will post more about why the Canadian Rockies are so appealing to me.

Later! I’ll be back on Tues.
