You’re gonna LOVE my Crazy Cafiero HOT Apple PIE! (Happy Thanksgiving!!)
In anticipation for Turkey Day, I hooked up one of my favorite recipes of all time: Cafiero’s CRAZY HOT Apple Pie!
It’s crazy!
Here’s how you do it:
1. Make the crust. The hardest part right here. Good luck trying to roll it out perfectly. If you have holes or tears, you are screwed, but thankfully I did it PERFTASTICALLY!

2. Make the apple filling. Here’s a hint, Granny Smith Apples seem like the obvious choice right? NO! You think that, just because its named after GRANNY, who presumably makes a good apple pie, then that would seem to be the obvious choice, right? NO! Well, unless you like pie soup. Granny Smith apples release all the moisture when baking. Use Golden Delicious apples instead! Peel, core, slice about 8 apples, and sautee them in butta’, sugar, cinnamon, etc. Not too much butter, please.

3. I made a lattice top, because I am such an artiste. And I stabbed it in 4 places with cinnamon sticks!

4. Bake baby bake baby 1 - 2 - 3 - 4… for 43 minutes at 425 degrees.
ZINNNNNNG!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, my peeps! There are so many things I am thankful for. I wish I could list it all here, but I’d definitely get carpel tunnel syndrome. I will list them out in separate posts. The people who have shaped my life as a kid and even today. I am such a lucky guy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! I LOVE YOU! It’s my mom’s b-day, I will be doing a post all about HER soon!

Yes, that pie does look delicious and I can say that it tasted even better than it looks! Mark was up until 2:30 a.m. working on and left the kitchen immaculately clean. Thanks for driving all the way out to Boise and celebrating Thanksgiving with us. It was the best turkey day ever! With pie on top!
