Feliz (belated) Navidad!!!

Now hold on a second! I know it’s no longer Navidad, OK? I’m not tonto. Before I go any further I will apologize for the “belated” post. It’s January 2nd for crying out loud and I am now just finally posting Christmas photos. Well excuse me, but I have been busy, alright? HEY! Chill, hombre! Chill!

Hey I hope everyone had a fun Holiday Season! I’m at the A-Frame in Summit co right now with Jenny and Gary. It’s where I will be working during the week for the next 4-5 months. It’s great, I can work and then take a break and hit up some steeps just minutes away at A-Basin! It’s so freakin cool, I have to remember not to take this situation for granted! I am supposedly to start patrolling there soon. For now I am just freeskiing and that’s Bueno Con Migo, which means totally cool if you ask me. I don’t know why I am speaking so much spanish today.

So anyway, I just have some really great photos. I know you want to see them. What’s that? You don’t want to see them? Well tough. It’s my blog and I can do with it what I want, see…..

OK. Here’s my dad in the Kitchen. What’s he making??? Any guesses?
cafi0315.jpg

No, he is not making tamales. But Jenny’s bro made them on Christmas Eve Eve. This is Christmas Eve.
Here’s a hint:
cafi0201.jpg

You STILL don’t know what he’s making??? OK, don’t start feeling stupid just yet I will give you another hint:
cafi0215.jpg

What’s that? You STILL don’t get it? OK another hint: (It’s my FAVORITE dinner that my dad makes!)
cafi0287.jpg (NO, not lemons! Well they were part of the dinner for sure, but look PAST the lemons!).

OK here is one last hint. I cannot believe you haven’t guessed yet.
cafi0257.jpg

cafi0268.jpg

OK OK I will just tell you. He made his famous Lobster Fra Diavalo!!! Lobster cooked up real good-like in a tasty tomato sauce served over angelhair! Angel hair is a really thin pasta, no we would not really eat an angel’s hair. Even though I am sure an angel’s hair would be very clean, I still wouldn’t want to eat it, not even with this great sauce. ANYWAY…

Here are some more shots. I wish I could let you taste it. My dad is an awesome cook!!! Here he is choppin’ some garlic!
cafi0333.jpg

And putting some of that great sauce on the hair
cafi0412.jpg

And he knows I am trying to get my greens so we had…
cafi0355.jpg
and
cafi0409.jpg
and some more
cafi0374.jpg

Then we went on a hayride through the hood to check out some Christmas lights! Jenny is happy about this.
cafi0171.jpg

Some 3D glasses were provided. They were so amazing that they put Jenny into a TRANSE!
cafi0182.jpg

Because the 3D glasses were putting everyone in a TRANSE, my dad decided to lock the safety lever to prevent us from falling off the hay-sleigh.
cafi0180.jpg

And even my future “in-laws” made it. They were happy that they braved the ride, plus there was a bottle of Rumpleminz on board so that made it even more bearable. Doesn’t everyone look like they have the Navidad Spirit???
cafi0189.jpg

So then Christmas came and we opened PRESENTS!!!

I have been telling Jenny all year long that all I want for Christmas is a Yodeling for Dummies book. I’m serious. I really want to learn to yodel. (Shut up.)
cafi0428.jpg
(That’s me, practicing… SHE FOUND IT!!!)

Here’s Jenny, we want to do a yodeling duet at our upcoming wedding so she had to practice as well. Coco, the little fufu dog that my dad lets ride in his lap when he drives the convertible with the top down, but the windows up… seems a bit confused but way pumped.
cafi0418.jpg

By the way, turns out there is really no such thing as Yodeling for Dummies. Jenny actually made a fake cover in Photoshop! Genious! So what was inside the book, you aks??? It was a book called, “Eat this, not that”. It’s by Men’s Health. It’s a book that says that if you are forced to eat two bad foods, eat the one bad food that is better. The problem is that I only eat bad foods on Sundays (SPLURGE DAY), so I would most likely eat the “NOT THAT” item. I love the book though, it’s my guide for Splurge Day! I will be eating everything on the “NOT THAT” list next Sunday! :D

Not pictured, Jenny got me some SNOWSHOES! I told her I want to enter a snowshow 10K this year and so she got me some running snowshoes. THANKS JENNY YOU ARE SO AWESOME!!!

Jenny got me this very thoughtful Christmas Tree Ornament! It’s a cycling shoe! She got me that because I like riding bikes! Last two years she got me ski ornaments. Bless her heart!
cafi0426.jpg

Oh man, and I almost forgot, we had a PICTURE PERFECT white Christmas this year! All day long, big fat snowflakes swirled from the sky to the ground and I didn’t have to work with the ski patrol! Last Christmas I had to patrol on Christmas day and I was way bummed. Here’s the view from my dad’s living room! Beautiful!!!
cafi0449.jpg

Well I gotta go to bed. Sorry. Story time is over. I had so many other great memories from this Christmas. Dinner at Jenny’s parent’s place on Christmas was one I will NEVER forget and so many more great things. Mostly it felt so good to take a break from work and relax. Now the holidays are over and I am so pumped to bring on a killer 2008!!!!!

Soon I hope to post real-time photo blog posts like I once used to be so good at. I still have to post my Broncos photos. Yes Jamie I got the shot. It’s beautiful.

Later!

Mark! The picture of you guys and my parents made me laugh and cry at the same time! I love it! Christmas was AWESOME this year, and I’m so glad you were a part of the family festivities. Lookin forward to more great times with you and Jenny in 2008!!!

P.S. Tell Jenny that she cannot possibly get rid of her cheek meat… It’s a Campbell trademark. Your kids will probably have the same adorable cheeks someday!
