Time for some Jet-Setting…

A couple from Australia recently found me and reserved me for photography for their wedding in Siena Italy. Since I will be out there anyway, (I am shooting another wedding in Siena within a month of that one which I am thrilled about!) I have decided to go ahead and fulfill a dream of mine and live in Italy… for a month!

So that means finding a cool, affordable place to live for a month. Any vagabonds out there with some advice? I will be with my beautiful fiance’ so it will have to be just a little nicer than some dirty hostel! ;)

Also I am pretty sure I’ll be going on a ski trip to Zermatt Switzerland on Easter weekend with friend Ryan from NY, taking advantage of cheap airfare on that slow-travel holiday. I guess on Easter people tend to stay home that weekend. So for a weekend I’ll need to find a good deal on accommodations there as well.

Yeah that’s the Matterhorn! I can’t wait to ski Switz!

I am looking into a something I read about on a favorite blog of mine about Urban Camping. Sounds like a fun way to travel. Anyone know about this?

Aside from that I’m also looking forward to my annual trip to Vegas where I’ll be speaking for the third time at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention and trade show, as usual I am sure it will be a blast!

I am so excited for you!!! Nick and I went to Zermatt skiing a long time ago. It was BY FAR the best vacation we ever took. We went for Thanksgiving and got snowed in. You can’t take a vehicle up there, you have to get there by train. Oh, you are going to have SO much fun!!! I wish I could go with you. The skiing is the best. The routes are so long they have little Chateous along the way so you can stop for some hot mulled wine. I’ll ask Nick about accommodations in Italy. YIPPEEE for you and Jenny!!! I’m jealous!

Sure, Eric and I would LOVE to join you in Italy. Thank you for inviting us!

Mark- This is amazing! You’re really loving Ferris’ book, huh? =) Good for you! You are living the life most people dream of. In terms of places to live- check out “vacation rentals by owner,” or vrbo.com. You’ll be able to search by location and price, and won’t have to deal with companies or super expensive tourist websites. You’ll find regular people who want to rent out their space for weeks/months at a time. Enjoy!
