Switzerland IV - Videos!
Day one in Switz. I landed at 7:45 AM and next thing you know I was on my way to ski me some Engelberg! But I missed my train by one lousy minute. That’s OK, I was STARVING, and it was SPLURGE day!!! (it was SPLURGE WEEK)
Then Day three I went to [...]

If you don’t orchestrate it, you don’t OWN it. (and Switzerland III!)
“If you don’t orchestrate it, you don’t own it.”
Michael E. Gerber, E Myth Revisited
I remember a few weeks ago I was at the gym, and while most people are rockin out to thrasher music, nothing gets me more PUMPED to PUMP UP, than… audiobooks!
I was pumping iron to E Myth Revisited and Michael [...]

Switzerland Post II
Here are some Fine-Art shots from the town of Luzern. I lied, I don’t have an hour each day, I have to reduce that to 20 minutes as to better prioritize my time… HOWEVER…
I’m going to have a show at my studio, so if you are interested in attending, let me know. I’m [...]

Happy Belated Easter
My good friend Kent Meireis sent me this while I was in Switz.
Ha, thanks Kent. Kent, by the way, is a real, authentic, accomplished photojournalist-turned-wedding photographer and I have so much respect for him and his work! You should see some of his work from his days at the Denver Post - his [...]

Switzerland
I just returned from an amazing trip from Switzerland. For less than $1000 bucks (including lodging, round-trip airfare, etc) I did the following:
1. Free-Skied the Swiss Alps.
2. Enjoyed some amazing food.
(who says International Cuisine has to cost a fortune?)
3. Got up close and personal with the Matterhorn via cable car and [...]

Back from Vegas, off to Switzerland!
Just got back from Vegas and had an awesome time as expected. The highlight of my trip from a vacation standpoint, was Cirque de Soleil, O.
From a photography standpoint, my 3rd consecutive Master Class Presentation went great and I managed to get some awarded prints in the 16×20 competition:
Bride and Groom
Non-Wedding Photojournalism
And one more [...]

Featured Again!
I always get so excited when I see a small cardboard box on my desk from Amherst Media. They often come by surprise, and inside it holds two copies of their latest book. So my work is being featured in their newest book, Master Lighting Guide for Wedding Photographers. You can get [...]

18:47! Another VICTORY in the books! (speaking of BOOKS…)
(Hey it’s MY blog, I feel like it’s my safe zone for bragging a little… right?)
My day just started off so great today. Every Wednesday is PR day. It’s when I try to set a Personal Record at Washington Park on my run. To summarize my little self-made routine:
M: Lift at the [...]

Vegas/Switzerland, it’s time!
What a week I have coming up. Leaving for Vegas to do my Master Class Presentation at the world-famous Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention and trade show - this is my third consecutive season speaking at it, and as always I’m totally thankful for the opportunity. I hope I can add [...]

Potpurris Maximus
Occasionally I like to just post any little things that have either been on the back of my mind. I call it a potpurri post - or Variety Pack!
My iPhone has a lot of random photos so I thought I’d get em out here on the blog.
DISCLAIMER: Most of these photos are from [...]

Stirring up some Controversy???
Since the recent post announcing our new online proofing system for photographers, GANDER, I have received a lot of responses from photographers - some eager to sign up, some just curious about it, and others who are totally opposed to our new feature, the ability to sell digital files. I LOVE the response we’ve [...]

Books I can’t live without
I can’t say I actually READ. I prefer audio books so that I can read while jogging, driving, bringing Gary out for a potty (he’s my dog), in airplanes, etc. These are the books that I can’t say enough about as an entrepreneur, in order of importance:
1. Greatest Salesman in the World, [...]
