Potpurris Maximus

Occasionally I like to just post any little things that have either been on the back of my mind. I call it a potpurri post - or Variety Pack!

My iPhone has a lot of random photos so I thought I’d get em out here on the blog.

I’ll start with last weekend - Jenny brought me out to Beaver Creek to see our FAVORITE comedian of today, Jim Gaffigan! It was so awesome and he was hilarious! Before the show, we went out for sushi, Mmmm.

Here we are with the comedian himself. He’s on Conan O’Brien all the time, does the jokes about the Hot Pockets, Cake, etc. He’s a true comedian. Unfortunately the comedian who opened for him took this photo and can’t take a still photo. Oh well, that’s what happens when you combine a comedian with an iPhone and low light I guess.

Back a couple weeks, American Gladiators had a tryout here in Denver. Jenny woke up at the crack of dawn to go to Boulder so that I could fulfill a sliver of one of my childhood dreams, to become an AMERICAN GLADIATOR!!! I did pretty good I think, but after the tryouts I heard one of the judges on the news that night, saying that they are really looking for competitors who have a good reason for going for AG. Like they are about to lose their home and really need the $100,000 prize or that they are struggling with some sort of hardship, "not just for people who think it would be cool" (which is basically the reason I gave in my interview. Doh!)

I had to complete a 100 page application and answer some really stupid questions, and I even was asked to draw a picture of myself. Okaaaaay. Here you go:

This is the Singapore Cafe in NYC! I haven’t had Roti Pratha with curry since actually BEING in Singapore, like 7 years ago! MMMmmmm I highly recommend this place, Chinatown!

Hey it’s Jim and Stephanie. You all have heard about Jim, he’s the Huntington Beach Bad Boy of wedding photography. And his wife, Stephanie. I love hanging out with these two. Stephanie as sweet as she seems here has a little bit of a potty mouth and Jim is pretty good at rolling his eyes when it happens. But as you can see they are a great couple.

Oh Hey! Check this out! Jenny made me a PROTEIN BANANA SPLIT! That’s right. Two bananas, and instead of ice cream, it’s protein powder, mixed with sugar-free, fat-free puddin’. Topped with light whipped cream, fresh strawberries and crushed nuts! WOW! Thanks Jenny!

Peeps, meet Gios. This is my summer ride and I’m about to break her out for another summer of commuting. I have been riding a Surly Cross-Check with studded tires all winter long and I managed to drive to work only three days all winter long, through snowstorms, day or night. That said, i am ready for shorts and t-shirt riding!

I almost bought this car. I was going to leave it in AZ as my AZ car so that I don’t have to rent a car every time I go out there. My dad had one just like it and I suppose my reasons were more sentimental than wise. FIAT “Fix It Again, Tony”

The other week at Bottega in Birmingham, this restaurant is AMAZING. Don’t get me started.

Back to AZ. This is South Mountain. I run these trails whenever I’m working in AZ. Sometimes it gets deathly hot. I like to see how hot I can run the complete 45 minute loop without dying. So far I have a perfect record.
