Vegas/Switzerland, it’s time!
What a week I have coming up. Leaving for Vegas to do my Master Class Presentation at the world-famous Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention and trade show - this is my third consecutive season speaking at it, and as always I’m totally thankful for the opportunity. I hope I can add value to the show. I’ll be speaking on Marketing, but I plan on tweaking my presentation a bit with the permission of my attendees to speak a little more on workflow automation and lateral thinking, which is something that has been making a HUGE presence in my studio in the last few months. If they are not into it, I can speak about marketing and networking until the cows come home.

Aside from speaking, Vegas is just a lot of fun. I looked at my post from last couple years and thought I’d repost a few photos.
2006

This is one of my all-time favorite Vegas Photos

My first season speaking, I was so pumped that I had the opportunity to talk. I don’t think I will ever get tired of presenting, I LOVE it. The presentation: “Capturing the Candid Moment”.

2007
Jenny and I in the plane. Wow, looking at that photo is crazy, my face was so fat. I was at a hefty 210 or 215 back then. haha. I am so glad I have been able to tone up a little! Jenny looks great as usual.

Oh BABY!

I’ll say it again: “OH BABY!”

All these were taken with my G7

Jim and his groupies

Room Service! I have to say, I just read an awesome book called The Millionaire Next Door. It was given to me from the guy with the ferrari in the post below this one. I won’t be ordering food service anymore. That book is totally changing the way I see things now. But I have to admit, room service is quite nice!

If you ever really want to exercise your self-control, go to Vegas and eat nothing but health food, like fruits and vegetables, water and plain chicken breasts. Betcha can’t do it!
Mmmmmm… “Maybe I’ll have just one or twelve”.

(I’ll be in Vegas on splurge day, so I’ll be able to let my inner fat man out of his cage for one short day.)
The man, the myth, the legend: Uncle Chrissy. I’m so mad I am going to have to miss your party this year, Becker!

And finally a little fun in the photo booth with Orbie and Rebecca, our friends from Santa Cruz.

I guarantee more photos from WPPI 2008, followed by some killer shots of the Swiss Alps, which I will be hopefully selling to fund my extra time in Italy, just month later, where I’ll be shooting two weddings in Siena, Italy!
I get home from Vegas at 10:45 PM on Tuesday and catch a 6:00 AM flight on Wed for Switz. I bought “Italian for Dummies” a CD set so my goal is to listen to it non-stop on that trip to learn me some Italian.
ATTENTION BRIDES AND CLIENTS: I will not be able to check email from March 16-26. Please direct all questions and inquiries to Kendra, our studio manager, who is here M-W-F of every week. She will take good care of you. kendra@cafierophotographers.com She will also be holding consultations while I’m gone, so if you’re dying to see some work, give her a shout and set up an appointment!
Later!

I love all your G7 shots. I wish my G7 performed as good. It must be the operator.

Dear, Friend
Switzerland is one of the most mountainous countries of Europe. More than 70
percent of its area is covered by the Alps, in the central and southern regions, and
the Jura, in the northwest. The Swiss Alps are part of the largest mountain
system in Europe and are famous for their jagged peaks and steep-sided
valleys.Fantastic routes, breathtaking vistas: experiences that await the traveler
on the Glacier-Express from St. Moritz to Zermatt, across 291 bridges and through
91 tunnels, and on the William Tell-Express from Lucerne to Lugano/Locarno,
first by ship and then by train.
