ARRIVADERCI!!!! (Happy Mothers Day!)

Hi Peeps,

I’m at JFK right now on a long layover, waiting for our flight to Rome. It’s splurge day so I have been enjoying it while traveling.

Our first leg of the trip was interesting. I was seated in the middle seat. Jenny at the Window and there was a Cockatiel named Tropo who got the aisle seat. He was on his way back to his home in Poland. I’m kicking myself for not taking his photo. It was fun watching the bird as we took off. He chirped a few questionable gawks throughout the flight.

On long flights, I enjoy walking the aisles in airplanes and looking at the people sleeping. I find it strangely entertaining.

Today, when Jenny needed to visit the bagno, I spotted this young gent, peacefully snoozing away. Someday I’d like to hold a photography gallery of photos of people sleeping on planes. It really is fun. If only I had the guts.

I took this quickly with my iPhone, which doesn’t make a sound when you take a photo. I was nervous of him suddenly awaking, but come on, does it look like he’s about to wake up? Plus, this is mandatory blog material.

Please excuse the poor quality of the iPhone photo.

I shouldn’t laugh too much, because I know I sleep with my mouth open like that, too. But the long hair strung over his face adds a nice touch.

Also I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there. You know who you are. See below for a tribute to my mom, Linda. Also a shout to my Nonnie, and Granny. I love you, ladies!

Finally, I believe a repost is in order. Funny, since listening to Italian for Dummies over and over again, I am starting to understand this more… I hope I get to meet Italian Spiderman! (spidair spidair spidair!!!)
