We have it so HARD!!!

GOTCHA! I really don’t think we do. But if you watch the news a lot, you might think we are really in some tough times. And I just hear people talking all the time about how rough things are (yesterday I found myself on the same bandwagon and quickly decided to give myself a little ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!)… COME ON PEOPLE!

I definitely hold some strong opinions about what’s going on in our country. I am a little perturbed about a few things… but funny thing is that our problems now, compared to back in the day when we didn’t have cell phones, the Internet, and all these other cute and fun luxuries, people were forced to appreciate the simple things in life.

Some of my best memories in life are BBQ’s, tossing frisbees, riding bikes, taking photos (of course!) etc. This guy on Conan O’Brien puts things all into perspective. I think he is hilarious… and SPOT ON. I agree with him 100%, CLICK HERE

As for my business, I have been making some serious adjustments. I got a little creative and now am saving myself THOUSANDS of dollars each month in my expenses (mostly operating and advertising), and it’s been a really fun challenge. Now I feel good about doing business in this economy.

The BEST news is that the economy can’t downgrade my skills as a photographer!

And personally I have made changes, too. No more Starbucks (Sorry Starbucks, you are overpriced, you had a good life), I run to work now which is a new thing for me but I love it! about an hour each way. Then my bike is parked at the studio so when I need to run errands, I am all set! Saving gas$$ and getting exercise. “win-win”.

I enjoy the satisfaction of saving a few bucks.

This summer, I will be BBQ’ing A LOT! It’s all good!

I look forward to a more simpler life. There are a lot of great things that a sour economy can do to us on personal levels. It’s not the end of the world.

I mentioned a B.A.S.E. jumper who I saw at the Banff Mtn Film Festival who said he just always tries to find the good in every bad. Because there is! I thought he was great.

Then the next day, the radio was having callers call in to tell about who has had the worst year. They actually awarded the caller with the longest list of woe’s. To me, I feel that all the sappy callers that called in simply do not know how to find the good in a bad. They were really pathetic.

It’s a lesson I am still learning. But it’s a good one. I think life throws challenges in our path to see if we can find the good in them. It’s sort of been my religion this month!

Anyway, there’s a non-wedding photography post for you. It’s my blog and sometimes I ramble on.

Hope everyone’s well!

Here is a photo that I took in Philly last year. I was inside a famous Philly Cheese Steak restaurant. I love the look of that guy. Like he just wants a Philly Cheese Steak SO BAD but the wife has him on a diet or something. HA!

AMEN!! There is a blessing in everything. And I’m going to Hungary to get rid of all the fluff and live a much simpler life :) Good post, Mark.
